About International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports
The Conference is a national and international summit and China's only high-end platform dedicated to mountain tourism, held in Guizhou Province since 2015. As the world's first international organization focusing on mountain tourism, the IMTA has officially become the organizer of this event starting from 2024, continuing to serve as a pivotal link for international cooperation in mountain tourism.

    The Conference marked a shift towards practical implementation. It featured the release of a practice-focused publication on "Innovation in Mountain Tourism and Community Co-creation," significantly expanded its portfolio of recognized destinations by adding 8 new World Tourist Mountains and 6 international demonstration hiking trails, and strengthened its global network by exchanging MOUs with several international organizations, growing its total membership to 210.

    This edition was foundational, centered on establishing global frameworks. Its landmark achievement was the release of the "World Tourist Mountains - Accreditation Standards" and the inaugural list of 14 accredited mountains, setting a new benchmark for evaluating global mountain resources. Concurrently, it published the forward-looking report "Climate Change and Mountain Tourism: Adaptation Strategies."

    Since its inaugural session was held in Guizhou in 2015, the Conference has consistently advanced the integration of tourism, sports, and culture. It began with the release of the International Mountain Tourism Guizhou Declaration and has issued several key industry documents, including the World Tourism Poverty Reduction Guizhou Declaration and the International Mountain Tourism Health Declaration.
