As the highest peak on the eastern edge of the Eurasian continent, Changbai Mountain boasts a 92.2% primeval forest coverage rate, creating a unique hiking sanctuary. This trail links core attractions including the Underground Forest on the North Slope, Jinjiang Grand Canyon on the West Slope, border customs on the South Slope, and the Wangtian'e Waterfall Group. Here, volcanic lava stone forests, the grand scenery of Tianchi Lake, and the culture of the Korean ethnic group intertwine seamlessly.

The route is divided into beginner and intermediate difficulty levels, with a daily hiking distance of 5–8 kilometers. Hikers can either stroll along wooden boardwalks to enjoy the oxygen-rich air or challenge themselves by climbing 1,442 steps to the summit for a panoramic view of Tianchi Lake. The mountain presents distinct scenery across seasons: summer offers a cool retreat with flower fields and stream tracing; winter unlocks a powder snow wonderland featuring rime ice and hot spring baths in the snow.
