2026 World Tourism Cooperation and Development Conference to Be Held September 8-11
Time:2026-09-09 11:29

According to the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), the 2026 World Tourism Cooperation and Development Conference will be held from September 8 to 11 at Beijing's Shougang Park. Representatives from over 50 countries and regions, more than 50 cities, and cross-border travel operators will gather at the CIFTIS for a cultural tourism event themed "Digital Intelligence Renewal, Win-Win Cooperation" .

Tourism is one of the most dynamic sectors in global services trade. Since its inception in 2020, this conference hosted by the WTCF has been held for six consecutive sessions on the CIFTIS platform—consistently drawing global tourism cities to Beijing and establishing tourism as a vital pillar of services trade within China's high-level opening-up narrative .

For many overseas visitors, Beijing serves as the first stop in China. With ongoing visa policy optimization and the restoration and expansion of international routes, inbound tourism to China has continued to rise, reinforcing Beijing's role as an international exchange hub and gateway city. The value of this conference, however, extends beyond showcasing Beijing itself. Using one city as a fulcrum, it provides a model for cross-border cooperation among global tourism cities: a pathway for tourism collaboration to evolve from dialogue and exchange to tangible industry outcomes .
