Tasting Chaoshan delicacies and renewing China-Brazil friendship. A celebration event for "China Friendship Day" was recently held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The event was jointly organized by the Brazil China Friendship Association, the Brazil-China New Era Innovation Chamber of Commerce, and the China-Brazil Science and Technology Innovation Center. Approximately 150 people from both countries attended, including Tian Min, Chinese Consul General in Rio de Janeiro; Huang Yehua, Chairman of the China-Brazil Science and Technology Innovation Center; Henrique da Nóbrega, President of the Brazil-China Friendship Association; and Lin Guanghui and Yao Junyuan, teachers from Guangdong East Technician College.

In her speech, Consul General Tian Min stated that China-Brazil relations are currently at their best period in history. Bilateral cooperation now covers multiple fields including economy, trade, science and technology, and culture. The friendship and cooperation between China and Brazil are not only significant for both countries but also for the world at large.

During the event, the Shanshan Culture Promotion Center, the Rio de Janeiro Chinese Fraternity Association, and the Brazil-China Friendship Association presented certificates of appreciation and commemorative medals to Huang Yehua, Chairman of the China-Brazil Science and Technology Innovation Center, in recognition of his contributions to promoting people-to-people exchanges and strengthening bilateral friendship.

Huang Yehua stated that in the face of increasing conflicts and rising uncertainty in the international environment, a stable and sustainable friendly relationship between China and Brazil is particularly valuable. The two countries have strong economic complementarity and can further expand cooperation in science, technology, and innovation.

"China Friendship Day" was established by legislative decree of the Rio de Janeiro State Assembly in 2018, designating August 8 each year as "China Friendship Day." Over the years, this event has gradually become an important platform for enhancing understanding and deepening friendship between China and various sectors in Rio de Janeiro.
