The global tourism market continues to expand, with experience and digitalization emerging as new growth engines. Chinese tourism businesses can leverage this trend to optimize product structures, target high-value destinations, and enhance service and risk management capabilities.

Research jointly released by Arabian Travel Market 2026, STR, and Euromonitor International shows that despite geopolitical factors in the Middle East this year causing short-term disruptions to traveler confidence, airline capacity, and hotel operations, overall global tourism demand has demonstrated strong resilience, and the industry is entering a new phase of growth. As regional conditions gradually stabilize, destinations with well-developed tourism infrastructure, international connectivity, and sustained investment capacity will be the first to recover and unlock new growth opportunities.

Euromonitor International's report Travel in the Era of Polycrisis projects that tourism spending in the Middle East and Africa will grow by 47.7% between 2025 and 2030, adding over USD 50 billion. The study also notes that despite lingering inflationary pressures, global travelers continue to prioritize travel experiences, with tourism consumption having surpassed pre-pandemic levels and growing at a faster pace than GDP.
