On July 11, 2021, the Shanghai Sports Museum officially opened, adding a distinctive sports culture landmark to Shanghai's efforts to build itself as a "City of Museums." As of June 2026, the museum's online platforms have amassed over 557,000 followers, with total page views exceeding 3.5 million. It has cumulatively conducted over 150 public welfare social education activities, with in-person participation exceeding 10,000 people, themed live streams garnering over 300,000 views, and nearly 70,000 related media reports, achieving a total online readership of 320 million. These achievements reflect the museum's success in achieving all-around online and offline dissemination and public sharing of sports culture and heritage.
