Founded in 1930, Ludong University grows from No.2 Village Normal School of Shandong Province, Jiaodong Public School, Laiyang Normal School, Laiyang Normal Specialized School, Yantai Normal Specialized School, Yantai Teachers’ School for Advanced Studies and Yantai Normal College. Among the current 22 colleges and 74 research institutes, Department of Tourism Management under the Business College boasts excellent abilities of scientific research and practical abilities to serve the local. 22 members work for this Department, including 3 professors, 5 associate professors, 12 doctors and 5 masters. Their research covers theory and practice of regional tourism development, marine tourism, country tourism, ecological tourism, management and innovation of tourism companies, exploration of regional culture and creative tourism and folk tourism. At present, the Department of Tourism Management participates in over 10 local tourism projects.
