Jiaozuo city is a top tourist city of China and the birthplace of taijiquan. Jiaozuo city develops rapdily full of vitality in central and weatern part of China. Jiaozuo boasts abundant and unique tourism resources. Mt. Yuntai World Geopark, which is formed by five major scenic spots, namely Mt. Yuntai, Qingtian River, Shennong Mountain, Fenglin Gorge and Qinglong Vally, has become world famous. Yuntaihan is the national 5A Scenic Area in the first list, Chinese national natural heritage,one of the first group World Geoparks all over the world,and is one of the observation points of the tourism sustainable development of the United Nations World Tourism Organization. In 2017, Jiaozuo received a total of 47 million tourists at home and abroad with the comprehensive revenue 38.6 billion RMB.The comprehensive tourism revenue accounts for 13% of the whole city’s GDP. Yuntaihan Scenic Area received a total of 5.5million tourists with the ticket revenue 0.5 billion. Jiaozuo Tourism Bureau was built in 1999.It’s the member unit of Jiaozuo Municipal Government, in charg of the tourism industry development. Jiaozuo tourism industry has developed rapidly and has generated “Jiaozuo Tourism Phenomenon” in chinese tourism industry. In Nov,2008,Mr.Shao Qiwei,the former dieector of China Tourism Administration,regard Jiaozuo as the contact point of the Scientific Outlook on Development,and came to Jiaozuo by himself.From 2015, Jiaozuo City Tourism Bureau has cooperation with Monitoring Centor for UNWTO Sustainable Tourism Observatories having held twice International Mountain Tourism sustainable development Forum in the period of Yuntaishan Internatioanl Tourism Festival once every two years. Now, Jiaozuo Tourism Bureau is organizing the whole city to establish national tourism whole domain tourism model and develop Jiaozuo as the international cultural tourism city.
