Batur Global Geopark, centered around the active Batur volcano, is located in northeast Bali, Indonesia, between two round calderas formed about 22,000 years ago, a part of the active volcanic chain in the volcanic belt of Pacific. It was recognized as a member of the Global Geoparks Network in 2012 with its unique geological characteristics and magnificent scenery.
