Daocheng Yading Scenic Area, also known as Yading Nature Reserve, is in Daocheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, located at the border area next to Yunnan Province. The total area of the Nature Reserve is 1,457 square kilometers, the altitude ranges from 2800 to 6032 above sea level. It was made National Nature Reserve in 2001 and the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2003. It is managed by Daocheng Yading Scenic Area Administration Bureau（Yading Nature Reserve Administration Bureau） which is a resident agency of the Government of Ganzi Prefecture.
