The latest UN Tourism Data Dashboard, released on the 9th by the UN Tourism, shows that international tourist arrivals worldwide grew by 5% year-on-year in the first half of 2025.

Headquartered in Madrid, Spain, UN Tourism reported that approximately 690 million international trips were made in the first six months of the year, an increase of about 33 million compared to the same period in 2024. The Asia-Pacific region saw an overall growth of 11%, while Spain stood out as one of the top-performing destinations in terms of growth in international arrivals.

UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili noted that despite global challenges, international tourism has demonstrated strong resilience. In the first half of 2025, most destinations saw growth in both tourist arrivals and revenue, contributing significantly to local economies, employment, and livelihoods.

The report also revised the 2024 international arrival figures, confirming that numbers slightly exceeded pre-pandemic 2019 levels, indicating a full recovery for international tourism last year.

Despite ongoing economic and geopolitical uncertainties, UNWTO expects international tourist arrivals to grow by 3% to 5% for the full year 2025, with global travel demand remaining broadly resilient.
