Experts interested in participating in the expert review of the First Order Draft of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate (SROCC) may register to take part until 22 June 2018. The Mountain Research Initiative (MRI) is encouraging the mountain research community to review the chapter on High Mountain Areas. The expert review will run from 4 May 2018 to 29 June 2018.

As part of the IPCC sixth assessment cycle, the IPCC SROCC is currently being written and is to be completed and published by the end of 2019. The report assesses the relevant literature on this topic, with a focus on literature since the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report, and includes both the physical and human aspects. Relevant chapters for the cryosphere and mountains include chapters on High Mountain Areas and Polar Regions.

MRI is actively involved in the current IPCC SROCC and upcoming sixth assessment reports and wants to encourage and support your participation through expert review opportunities.
