CRITÉRIUM DU DAUPHINÉ - FINISH GATE IN CHAMPÉRY

time:2019-05-30 18:57 author:International Union of mountain tourism

Champéry saw action as host of an intermediate stage for the Critérium in 2013 but this year will mark the first time the world’s best roadies cross the Critérium finish line in Switzerland.

Organized by ASO (the Amaury Sport Organisation), this will be the last major event before the Tour de France and is considered a serious training session for the world's top racers. Last year's podium featured a 1st place by Garaint THOMAS, who went on to win the Tour de France a few weeks later. Adam Yates, last year's 2nd place finisher, won the Vuelta. Romain BARDET, the 2018 3rd place, was vice-world champion on road in Innsbruck. And, welcoming the racers this year will be our famous local biking ambassador, Steve MORABITO.

The racers will arrive in the end of the afternoon but we have a full day’s worth of events planned to entertain our biking fans who will be eagerly anticipating this run-up to the Tour de France.

Show up early and skip the traffic with a special offer on public transportation!
