Mountain Art and Craft Sale

The 27th annual Banff Mountain Art and Craft Sale will kick-off the first weekend of the 2017 Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival on Oct 28th and 29th. You will find original and wonderfully unique items handcrafted by regional mountain artists. The local's choice for early Christmas shopping!

ADK Jewellery Design
Revelstoke-based jeweller Arleigh Kurucz of ADK Jewellery Design creates unique and timeless pieces with a simplistic, classic design and high quality craftsmanship.

Alberta Fine Leathers
Uniquely Albertan, Alberta Fine Leathers creates wallets, purses, messenger bags, and duffle bags from bison (buffalo) hide.

Andrea Merredew Artist
Andrea Merredew spends her days outside, creating art with natural materials. Her art is an expression of her connection to the Earth and reflects her ecological consciousness. She will be selling jewelry made from sustainably harvested wood, bark and berries. She will also have prints of her ephemeral land art sculptures and a variety of note cards.  

Art by Mady
Mady creates original art of landscapes, ravens, and abstract paintings, art cards and 2018 calendars. Commission requests are welcome.

Balance Explore
Robyn is local artist based in Canmore, Alberta in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Her Balance Explore brand is inspired by the love of the outdoors and blends art and function. Robyn’s colourful designs merge classic natural elements with vibrant colours, creating a fresh take on the familiar.

Black and Light Images
Canmore resident Andrew Barron creates unique photographic images that span realism to painterly art interpretations of the mountains. This year’s work will comprise his "Fall 2017 Limited Edition" matted prints, plus various framed images and a number of works from 2016.

Burnt Glass Studio
Wearable art glass and sterling silver accessories! Delicious focal beads with depth and luscious colour. One of a kind sterling silver ear rings, bracelets and necklaces.

Creationz by Catherine
Catherine Perron is the day dreamer and designer behind Creationz by Catherine; handmade products. She believes in living a fulfilling life by pursuing her passions. She is constantly seeking new creative challenges and ways to express her endless ideas. Her items range from a variety of products such as wearable miniature jewelry, modern Christmas stockings, ornaments and Laptop cases.

Elizabeth Ellis Wearable Art
Hand-woven wearable art from sumptuous banana yarn to bamboo to silk. Elizabeth’s fibre art takes the form of scarves, shawls, ponchos, and Mobi-Q’s (ponchos with a twist!). All beautiful, warm and cozy for those perfect Banff evenings (and for daytime too!).

Extreme Quilting
Jan Burks produces quilted pieces fibre collage hangings and knitted hats.

Inferno by Canoe Cove Studio
Canoe Cove Studio is a Prince Edward Island-based glass studio that has developed an award-winning product line since entering the craft industry in 1992. Shelley Beckett-Jette and Chris Jette are fused glass artists and have a range of unique product that includes jewellery, ornaments, sculpture and dishes.

Kim Horrocks Ceramics
Lump and liquid sums up what Kim does in the studio. She works with two processes, wheel throwing and slipcasting to create beautiful and functional ceramic pieces.

Maxiene’s Fibers
Unique and useful products for the hard to buy for. A collection of hand-woven tea towels, colourful scarves, and warm afghans.

Mighty Mitten Factory
Come and check out Brenda MacLeod's mittens made from recycled wool sweaters that have been felted and lined with polar fleece to keep yuor hands warm and toasty!

Mystical Turnings
Suzette Dunphy is a talented wood turner from Parson, BC. Each piece is a gift waiting to be opened!

Noriaki Unno
Woodcut artist, photographer, and outdoorsman Noriaki Unno has been a regular visitor to the Rockies for over 30 years. His vivid depictions of mountain landscape in woodcut form come from his experiences and love for life in the Rocky Mountains, Northwest Territories, and the Japan Alps.

Out Designs
We are gem cutters. We use gemstones and semi-precious stones and set them ourselves. Since we cut our own stones, they are all different, mostly free forms. The stones (or rough as we call it) go through a long process of transformation (slabbing, trimming, sanding, and polishing) until they are a final, beautiful product.

Peacock & Lime
Peacock & Lime creates local artisan handcrafted jewellery that is artsy, eclectic & a little bit quirky. With a passion for old things & good stories and in a range of styles - from vintage-inspired, hippie, gypsy bohemian, steampunk & geek - all pieces play off of a love for tiny treasures and strive to add colour and pretty things to the every day.

Robert Froese
Rob Froese is a ceramic artist working in Canada and Japan, making objects of use and contemplation that range from small cups and plates to vase forms and wall works. He is currently in the MFA Craft Media program at the Alberta College of Art + Design.

Sherpa Soles
Sherpa Soles Slippers are handcrafted, fairly traded, eco-friendly, wearable art. Designed in Canada and created with a "green" hand soaped felting process. Makes the perfect gift for the whole family.  

Silly Goat Studio
Original paintings, prints, and art cards by local Banff artist Lynne Huras inspired by the work of Emily Carr. Her work has appeared on CD covers, in children’s books, and at numerous musical events.

Sol Metal Designs
Sol Metal Designs are hand crafted metal sculptures and designs that reflect the joy of outdoor recreation and the beauty of simple form.  For those who love the outdoors, Sol Metal Designs tries to capture the feel of this pleasure and moulds it into each organic, handmade piece of art.  Each piece makes a unique gift for a friend or a keepsake for your home that reflects who you are and what activity you love to pursue.  

Sparks Handcrafted Jewelry
Mary Ann Wiegert creates vibrant handcrafted jewelry made from semi-precious stones, metal, crystal, and lamp worked glass

Splat And Co.
Eco Punk accessories for the whole family! Splat And Co is the eco-friendly brand of husband and wife team Mike Ault and Jamie Bowen. They create sustainable products ranging from merino wool knitwear wool dryer balls, coffee cozies to fun Christmas ornaments. Everything they create is handcrafted from Canadian wool that they source from a small Alberta mill.

Tiffany Teske Jewelry
Tiffany is a full time mixed media artist and jewelry designer. She creates jewelry using feathers, wire, metal, beads, and leather.

Veronique Bottaro Artist
Veronique is a local artist from Banff and her specialty is acrylic paintings, cards and magnets.

Violet Special Jewelry Creations
Simple and sophisticated earrings handmade with love in Banff using sterling silver and semi-precious gems.

Viva Felt
Sustainable wearable art, inspired by The Rocky Mountains, hand felted from a rich variety of animal and plant fibres.

White Owl Ceramic Studio
Laura Sharp produces hand thrown and carved translucent porcelain, and earthenware pots. In 2009, Laura launched her own studio practice under the name White Owl Ceramic Studio.

Wood Wizard
Woodworker Bill Wiegert crafts boxes and vessels from domestic and exotic hardwoods. His repertoire also includes cutting boards, clocks, pens, candle holders, rolling pins, bottle stoppers, and wooden toys.

Woolymo
Barbara Mahoney is from Penticton. This will be her 3rd show in Banff. Barb is looking forward to showing her beautiful handmade merino wool products. Please stop by to see one-of-a-kind, scarves, sweaters, gloves headbands and more.
