The 15th Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) has recently come to a successful conclusion at Uhuru Gardens in the capital Nairobi. The theme of this expo is "Magical Kenya: Unleashing Africa's Potential through Sustainable Tourism". The Kenya Tourism Board is particularly excited about the strong recovery of the Chinese market. In 2024, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Kenya reached 90,462, an increase of over 47% year-on-year, making Kenya the second fastest-growing source market globally. At this expo, the active participation and in-depth negotiations of nearly 20 Chinese travel agency delegations, especially their strong interest in high-end customized resources, indicate the broad prospects for tourism cooperation between Kenya and China.
