The Jungfrau in Switzerland is one of the most-visited places in the Alps. Standing at 4,158 meters (13,642 ft), the Jungfrau, which literally means "maiden," is one of the main summits of the Bernese Alps. Together with the Eiger and Monch, it provides visitors with spectacular views. The region is renowned for its ski areas and toboggan runs in the winter, and crystal-blue mountain lakes and gushing waterfalls on summer hiking routes.
