On May 19, the main venue event of the "5·19 China Tourism Day" 2026 took place in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

May 19, 2026 marks the 16th China Tourism Day. This year's event, themed "Enjoy Quality Tourism, Embrace Beautiful Landscapes," features a series of activities, including a theme day and a theme month. It brings together relevant industry organizations, public cultural institutions, cultural and tourism enterprises, as well as railway, aviation, financial, and telecommunications operators to widely promote initiatives such as cultural and tourism benefits, service quality improvement, inbound tourism promotion, and awareness campaigns for civilized and safe travel. Across the country, various regions have tailored activities to align with the theme, leveraging local characteristics to continuously enhance tourism service quality and introduce a variety of benefit measures, allowing consumers to share in the achievements of high-quality development in the cultural and tourism industry.

The launch ceremony of the main venue event kicked off with a spectacular lion dance performance from both the northern and southern traditions.
